EDUCATION A HUMAN RIGHT
HELLO DEAR TEACHERS
In this entry of my blog I would like to share with you some important aspects of education as I was writing in another blog of our Education right.
As humans we all need some basic rights to live a live with dignity, for example the right to live, to be free, the right to express what we feel or think, to carry a gun and many more but one of the most important is for me is Education, because I guess for me it is important for people to know what is freedom to enjoy it, to live, to have relevant ideas or theories that can change the world and I think can only be archived if they are educated.
In our country this right is the third article of the constitution and let me explain what is about I mean beyond the simple right to receive education in a Public school.
The right is about giving every person the right to get education and the Government needs to provided it for free, it was only for elementary school, junior high and high school, but due new additions to the Constitution it was possible to fight to include also higher education to be free.
This right means we all should have the opportunity to go to school and the access should be easy for everyone but in reality we know there are thousands of kids, and teens that never will have the opportunity to be in a school non the less to get formal education, and this was before the pandemic now think about the situation we live now a days kids that can’t go to school and don’t have access to internet are being denying to the access to a free education, and also teens and some young adults that wanted to study and due to this situation and the lack of effort from the government weren’t able to do something about it.
And just the opposite every teacher, and parent that could do something, did it but with their own money, even though the economic situation was critical for many people and some other lose their jobs.
So as an expert on human Rights, I once again dear to say the is not such thing as human rights in reality, so here we are as teachers and students doing the best we can with our own resources. So thank you for doing for best for your children, your students and your society because nobody else will.
hi Dam! In theory what you say is very true, the unfortunate thing in this situation is the practice as we have been seeing it in all these years, and now with the pandemic the problem of lack of education worsened, the amount of difficulties that all of us are unbelievable we have passed both teachers as well as students and let's not forget the parents, the economic shortage, the lack of internet, computers, even the lack of patience, it has been very difficult to get all my students to have access to a good development of their learning, we have adapted many means to be able to work in the best way but I know that they still have a lot to achieve and that they are not in their best educational capacity, for those students who are struggling I hope soon to be able to return to the classrooms.
ResponderEliminarYou know Dam, your blog made me think when I graduated from “the normal”, I left with a lot of emotion to teach what I learned, but oh surprise when I face reality, it's not how I saw it in the school.
ResponderEliminarI came to a community full of deficiencies, where people were not thinking about studying but how to survive, it is true that we all have the right to education, and for teachers it is frustrating to want to teach and there are no conditions in every way. You say something very true, teachers always give what we have to support the teaching process, even if it's from our pocket and that's the rewarding thing for teachers. Thanks for sharing.
